Group winner NO LIMIT CREDIT sold for €480,000

This season’s Schwarzgold-Rennen (Gr.3) winner with a current rating of 47,5 (105), NO LIMIT CREDIT will go to Germany after being bought by Jean-Pierre Deroubaix (F.B.A) for €480,000. Third in the Premio Lydia Tesio (Gr.2) after the catalogue was printed, the three-year-old daughter of Night Of Thunder was consigned by Ecurie des Monceaux.

I”ve bought her for a long-standing German client, Jurgen Sartori, who hasn’t had horses for 20 years but is coming back. Mr Sartori loves racing. I bought him a horse Val des Pres with Elie Lellouche that won shortly afterwards.
LOT 174
Two well-bred lots for James Delahooke

Active throughout the day, James Delahooke signed for two fillies lots just minutes apart. The first, was dual German Group winning four-year-old filly DURANCE, for €750,000. With a current rating of 50 (110), she is a sibling to no less than seven black-type performers. Following a long battle in the ring, the agent said, 

She’s a filly from a lovely family, and it is rare to find as much black-type under the first dam in addition to her race record speaking for itself! She is also a very good looking filly. I’m really fell in love with her when I first saw her a couple of days ago. I’ve bought her for an American client that already has some mares in Kentucky and in England.

He then went on to secure TRUTH, a sister to multiple Group 1 winning globetrotter MAGIC WAND and half-sister to CHICQUITA, offered in foal to Siyouni by Haras de Bouquetot. The agent said after signing the docket for €580,000,
 
A few years ago he were beaten on her sister, Magic Wand, that was also sold here. We were very disappointed not to get her. Today, we had the final say on her sister and we are delighted. I’ve bought her for ex-jockey Willie Carson that breeds under Minster Stud in England with a lot of success.

LOT 172
EUCLIDIA sold for €525,000 to Gerard Larrieu

This year’s 2020 Prix Panacee (L.) heroine EUCLIDIA was another that proved popular from the Wertheimer Brother’s consignment when selling for €525,000 to Gerard Larrieu. The daughter of Maxios is half-sister to  Stakes winners SOUSTRACTION and MATEMATICA, and comes from the family of Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr.1) SOLEMIA.

Gerard Larrieu commented:

I’ve bought her for Jean-Louis Bouchard who has a small breeding operation close to Deauville and wanted to add a quality mare like her to his broodmare band. I hope that this Wertheimer breeding will be lucky. Her dam and half-sister have been sent to the best stallions like Dubawi, and that continues, things should go well!

LOT 170
DIRECTA joins Oiwake Farm

A winner of the Prix Fille de l'Air (Gr.3) and Prix Vulcain (L.) this season, DIRECTA proved to be very popular at the sale when knocked down to Haruya Yoshida (Oiwake Farm). It was Satoshi Kobayashi that had the final say for the Joël Boisnard trained filly, that went for €470,000.

She’ll go to stud in Japan, said the Chantilly based Japanese trainer. Maybe she’ll be covered before leaving, her new owners haven’t yet decided.

€370,000 for RIGHT HAND

Offered from the Wertheimer & Frère, RIGHT HAND was knocked down to Victor Langlais (Langlais Bloodstock) standing in company with Henri Bozo for €370,000. Out of the very talented BALLADEUSE, the half-sister to Prix Vermeille (Gr.1) scorer LEFT HAND is from the family of the excellent PLUMANIA.

Henri Bozo said:

We’ve bought her in association with Victor Langlais, Ecurie des Monceaux, and Bertrand Le Metayer. She’s a mare that we really like, and is very good looking and walks well. She comes from one of the best European breeding establishments, with whom we have already had a lot of success. She’ll now come back to Monceaux.

LOT 148
€500,000 for PSARA

Consigned by Ecurie des Monceaux, PSARA, a daughter of Invincible Spirit out of Group winner Pacifique, one of the stud's best families, was knocked down for €500,000 to Ghislain Bozo (Meridian International). The granddaughter of PLATONIC is also a half-sister to the Prix de Lutèce (Gr.3) winner PAIX.

The agent said afterwards,

I love everything about her! She’s a lovely mare, with a lot of quality and is very well bred. There’s everything to like about her. She’s in foal to Churchill, a stallion that I like a lot and I think it is a great cross. I’ve bought her for a partnership.

LASY W sold for €320,000 to Alex Solis via ARQANA Online

Bidding on ARQANA Online from the other side of the Atlantic, Alex Solis went up to €320,000 for LASY W. Consigned by the Wertheimer Brothers, the unraced three-year-old by War Front is out of US Grade 1 winner ZAFTIG from the excellent maternal line of ZOFTIG.

LOT 134
SPINNING MEMORIES goes to Japan

Dual Group 3 winning mare SPINNING MEMORIES will be heading to Japan following a long battle between Teruya Yoshida (Shadai Farm) bidding online and Satoshi Kobayashi in the ring, before she was knocked down to the Shadai Farm owner for €500,000.

Now a five-year-old, the winner of the Prix de Meautry and Prix du Palais-Royal was offered from Pascal Bary’s stable. She hails from the family of MEMORIES OF SILVER and WINTER MEMORIES.

LOT 109
Listed winner CONTE DE FEE goes to the United States

This season’s Prix Occitanie (L.) winner CONTE DE FEE will continue her career in the United States after being knocked down for €410,000 to Mark McStay (Avenue Bloodstock) and Jamie Piggott (Jamie Piggott Bloodstock) on behalf of Medallion Racing. Trained by Nicolas Clement, the three-year-old daughter of Sea The Stars is a granddaughter of triple Group 1 winner PETRUSHKA.

Standing with Jamie Piggott, Mark McStay said:

We’ve bought her with Jamie Piggott for Medallion Racing. She’s a lovely filly that is really progressive. Nicolas Clement has looked after her very well. We also like her sire, Sea The Stars. She’ll now go to the United States.

LOT 93
MAGEVA sold for €430,000 to Shadai Farm

Just three lots later, there was further buzz in the ring with the black-type filly MAGEVA going under the hammer. Bidding online, Teruya Yoshida (Shadai Farm) went to €430,000 for the three-year-old daughter of  Wootton Bassett from Haras des Capucines. Listed placed on two occasions this season, she also finished third in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (Gr.1) for Fabrice Chappet.

LOT 90
MALEVRA knocked down for €430,000

Buyers were keen to see Group 3 placed MALEVRA through the ring, with the daughter of Le Havre eventually being knocked down for €430,000 to Frederic Sauque. Offered from Haras d’Etreham carrying for the first time to Wootton Bassett, the daughter of Le Havre finished runner-up in the Prix de Royaumont (Gr.3).

After signing the docket, the agent said:

I’ve bought her for an investor that has come from the trotting world, that I met there. This is his first broodmare. I liked her race performances and he physique. She’s in foal to a good stallion!

LOT 8
ALIMNIA goes to Italy

The Breeding Stock Sale started with a bang this morning, with one of the first lots to go through the ring, ALIMNIA, being knocked down for €190,000. A daughter of Dubawi out of Prix Jean Romanet (Gr.1) winner ALPINE ROSE, it was Fabio Carnevali (Fabio Bloodstock Agency) that had the final say for the four-year-old filly from the family of FRAGRANT HILL from Ecurie des Monceaux.

After signing the docket, the Italian agent said,

I’ve bought her for one of my Italian clients, and she’ll go to his stud. She’s very well bred with a great pedigree. Her dam is a Group 1 winner and her sire is an excellent stallion.
